Stroller Friendly

At the polite suggestion of an intrepid wheelchair-bound friend and the encouragement of a Rhode Island landscape designer, we’ve tried to make a portion of the maze easier for our visitors on wheels. We’ve succeeded on a portion of the maze, but it is still a Connecticut cornfield with stubble, and steep grades, and a good collection of New England’s ubiquitous rocks.

First, we created a dedicated walkway from the parking area to our lawn. We now feature a gentler slope that’s more welcoming for all our visitors.

Second, the paths in the maze are usually at least 5 feet wide, and we work to keep them raked and clear of the cornstalks the deer knock down during their midnight snacks.
Even so, it's still a cornfield, but we’re excited about these efforts and about making the Merrow Maze experience available and even more enjoyable to more people. So roll on over and give it a try!
